Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Gesture Synth is a free, browser-based instrument. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can exercise your rights.

Authoritative version

This page is a translation of our privacy policy provided for your convenience. The English version is the authoritative legal text. If any conflict or ambiguity arises between this translation and the English version, the English version prevails.

Camera and hand tracking

Gesture Synth uses your webcam to track hand gestures with MediaPipe Hand Landmarker, a Google open-source model that runs as WebAssembly inside your browser. Video frames are processed on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or any third party. We do not store, transmit, or analyze your video anywhere outside your browser.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure aggregate traffic and improve the site. GA4 may set first-party cookies and collect anonymized usage data such as page views, country, and device category. You can opt out by using your browser's privacy settings, an ad blocker, or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

When Google AdSense is enabled on this site, Google and its partners may set or read cookies, web beacons, and use your IP address to serve and measure ads. These providers may use this data for ad personalization and frequency capping. You can manage ad personalization at Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you will see a consent banner before personalized ads are served.

Children

Gesture Synth is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We do not use interest-based advertising on child-directed content.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you have the right to access, delete, or restrict the personal data we process. Because we do not collect personal data directly — Google Analytics and AdSense are the only processors — your requests are best handled by contacting those providers directly, or by emailing us at the address below.

Contact

For privacy questions or data requests, email us at the address listed on the Contact page. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as we add features or change processors. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any change. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
